അയണം(നാമം):: അയനം (സമാസത്തില്‍ പൂര്‍വപദത്തിലെ രേഫം, ഷ ഇവയ്ക്കുശേഷം നകാരം ണകാരമായി മാറുന്നു. ഉദാ: ഉത്തര + അയനം = ഉത്തരായണം. എന്നാല്‍ ദക്ഷിണ + അയനം = ദക്ഷിണായനം. ണകാരം കൊണ്ടു ഷകാരവും അയനത്തിലെ നകാരവും ഇടമറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതിനാല്‍ ണത്വം വരുന്നില്ല.)
